The Parents Standing Committee (PSC) is a committee of parents who support the school by coordinating volunteers for, and assisting in organizing a number of school functions, activities and fundraisers.
The PSC provides a variety of opportunities for parents to further develop a partnership with the school community, to meet other parents and to share in the responsibility for our co-curricular, extra-curricular and social functions.
Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month.
The Committee is responsible for, among other things:
The scheduling of yard duty and crossing guard volunteers.
The organizing and delivery of the Hot Lunch program.
The organizing of fundraising events and social functions.
The operation of the lost and found and nearly new school uniform sale.
The organizing of Primary and Intermediate Speech Arts Festivals.
Saint Pius X School is fortunate not to have mandatory volunteer hours as so many other schools have. It is due to the commitment of the many parents who share their time, talents and resources that this legacy continues.
Volunteers continue to play a very important role at St Pius X Elementary School. Students, teachers and the community benefit from the work of individuals like you who freely share their talents and resources.
The number of volunteers who contribute to our school each day helps create a true feeling of "family" in our school.
When planning begins for the different volunteer opportunities, you will receive information from your class rep on opportunities available within each event or activity along with information on how to sign up.
